ITALIAN COUNT TRAGEDY.
COUNT SENT- TO GAOL FOR LIFE. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Rome, June 27. Baron Vincent Paterno, a Sicilian, who iii Marchj 1911, killed Countess Giulia Trigona, a lady-in-waiting to Queen Elena o"f Italy, and then attempted suicide, and who was afterwards committed to an asylum, ha 9 been sentenced to imprisonment for life. At a little hotel near the Central Station in.Rome, Countess Trigona (of the family of the Tasca, princes of Cuto), a ladv-in- , waiting to Queen Elena, was killed on ; March 2, 1911, by being stabbed in tho • neck with a hunting-knife. Baron Paterhead of an illustrious and ancient Sicilian family, lay wounded in hospital with, three revolver bullets in his bodv. Count Trigona (of tlio princely family of Santf Eli'a) recently began an action to obtain legal separation from his wife, on the ground of her alleged intimacy with tlio baron. In view of this action, the Master of the Court Ceremonies requested the countess to resign her position in tho Queen's suite. It was said that the countess arranged a meeting with tho baron in order to break, off their relations, and that, the followed the baron's despair at her attitude. •
