[ I'ho Jliiyor said that considerable improroments had been made at the. Bay in recent years. Tho position of the City Council was that, they had only a limited revenue, and had to out their coat according, tq. their cloth. Island Bay had got its full ehare of expenditure. Tho city enuinecr had investigate tho trouble, and was apprised of the whole position. Hia Worship said that, he could not premise that the work would be completed this year. .£4OOO had already been spent on it. Hie Worship assured tho deputation that. their request would receive the-'scriout consideration of tho council.
