IMPERIAL TRADE COMMISSION.
LIMITATION OF ITS SCOPE.

London, June 2G. -Mr. Donald Campbell, (ho Commonwealth representative on the Imperial Trade Commission, has stated to an interviewer that he endeavoured to induce tho Imperial Commission to take evidence and make recommendations concerning inter-Dominion reciprocal Customs treaties. The chairman, however, ruled adversely. Tins ruling will practically exclude all forms of preference, including tariffs and subsidies to shipping, and will reditco tho scope of the Commission's usefulness. Mr. Campbell says ho now questions whether there is justification for tho expenditure on the Commission.
