Any anxiety which may have been felt as to tho vessel successfully making the passage in the face of tho stormy weuthor which has prevailed for tho past few.days was dispelled yestcrdav by the snfo arrival of tho dredge. Tho Maui accomplished the passage in 51 hours, which is considered good time for a vessel of her class, and also when it is taken into consideration that fihe is badly in need of docking. Shb left Gisborne at 11 a.m. on Sunday, and encountered a heavy southerly gale for the first twelve hours. Heavy seas broke on board, while vivid lightning and fierce rain squalls prevailed throughout Sunday night. After rounding East Capo the gale abated, ami the remainder of tho Maui's voyage was marked bv fino weather, with strong southerly winds.
