In view of the split in the Republican porty extraordinary interest centres in the Democratic Convention, to be held in Baltimore. A similar conflict has broken out in the Democratic ranks between tho Conservative and Progressive wings. Mr. Woodrow Wilson has joined Mr. Bryan in opposing Judge Parker's candidature for the chairmanship, as he believes that if the Conservatives dominate the Convention many Progressive Democrats will support Mr. Roosevelt. MR. ROOSEVELT'S PLATFORM. MANIFESTO ISSUED. (Rec. June 24, 10.45 p.m.) London, June 24. Renter's Agency states that Mr. Roosevelt's platform will be thoroughly progressive, and will include: Women's suffrage; taritf revision; a national commission to control the trusts; and the revision and strengthening of the monetary laws without the centralising of credit. Chicago, Juno 23. After organising a new . party, Mr. Roosevelt, formally withdrew from the convention. , Ho has issued . a manifesto declaring that the Convention did not represent the Republican voters, but merely represented a succcssful fraud over-rilling the rank and file. It. would be deeply discreditable for any man to accept its nomination. Mr. Roosevelt announced tho new party's motto to be "Thou shnlt not steal."
