■ 9 SUMMARY AND FORECAST. Present indications aro for cold and changeable weather. Strong eouth- ' easterly winds, veering to easterlies, in and northward of Cook Strait, and westerlies, backing to increasing northerlies, elsewhere. The barometer will probably continue to rise for a few hours in the north, and especially about East Ca.pe, but decreasing pressure is to bo espected everywhere soon, with a brief improvement only in weather conditions. The barometer has risen high everywhere, except at East Cape, whoro a cyclonic disturbance ha 3 apparently passed to seaward.
