■ME. FISHER AND THE BRISBANE REQUEST. By Telegraph-Press Association-Copyright. Melbourne, Juno 22. Mr. Fi=her, in his speech in the Federal House yesterday, in reply to Mr. Deakin's ceasuro motion, .declared' that, after considering the request for assistance dump; tbe Brisbane strike, tho Government concluded that the circumstances made it unnecessary to send troops. By sending them it would have done an irreparable injury to Australia. Conflict between trops and citizens at the present time would mean the end of our defence system.
