LISBON STRIKE RIOT.
TROOPS FIRE ON CITY MOB.

Many attacks have beeu made on tho workers, who included a number of English mechanics brought from a passing steamer to overhaul tho electric machinery."'
The strike is due to a dislike of foreign companies. The Government has arrested the tenders. ■
The first trams ran in the evening, escorted by troops. Threo bombs were thrown among the crowd in Dom Pedro Square. .Two porsons wore injured, one i of them fatally.
A force of cavalry dispersed the mob, after shots had been exchanged, and several people wounded.
The tramway company is reinstating as many of tho strikers as possible.
