The Auckland harbourmaster (Captain Duder), in his annual report to the board, which has just been published, states Hint the shipping trade of .the port shows a very substantial increase-over the previous year, the months of November and December having been especially busy with, the berthage almost constantly occupied, by large steamers. The gross tonnage of shipping to arrive during the year, was 3,009,1)72 tons, of which oversea vessels and large coasters accounted for 2,009,179 tons. The aggregate increases over 1910 were 281,571 gross tons in arrivals, and 250,952 gross tons in departures.
