Tito championship hookey matches were played at Otaki on Wednesday, when Otaki ladies defeated Tainiii (who have an unbeaten record) by a. proal to nil. while Levin (men) defeated 'I'e Horo by four to two. At Shannon the Otaki men defeated Shannon by 4 to 2, nigh School beat the Levin ladies, and Ohan defeated Shannon. The game 3 all through were interesting, the. former in particular. The Otaki Ladies' Hockey Club 'held a highly successful social last evening,when progressive euchre and dancing were indulged in. The night- was wet. but the attsiulan.ee was laTge.
