Dairy farming is a rigid, merciless court, where.thera is no escape from pay- ■ 1115 the hires imposed, ...ays a Canadian writer. The farmer is fined in hiird cash in tins court if he keeps poor cows; if he has unhealthy sheds; if ho does not provide plenty of\pure water ami feed; if he feeds an unfitting:, unbalanced ration; .if lie does- not care for his milk and cream in a sanitary. manner; if lie. does not provide improving blood for the building up of his herd; lastly, but not least, he is fined most heavily if he undertakes to deal with ail these questions with, an ignorant, uninformed mind. There is no escape, no appealing to the mercy of the court, no remitting of fines. Refusal to make a serious study' of the business of dairying is just where and how so many are heavily .fined in this court.
