When stumps were drawn the County were out for 100, nnd the Colonials had lost two wickets for 37. Tho teams wero as follow:— Bardsley, C. G. Macartney, C. Kelkway, S. H. Emery, J. T. Matthews, G. It. Hazlitt, W. Carkeok, 1). Smith, S. E. Gregory, 13. 11. Mayne, C B. Jennings. Surrey.-Hayward, Hobbs, Hayes, Ducat, Bird, Abel, Myers, Hitch, Strudwick, ■\V. C. Smith, Hushby. The weather was threatening, and the attendance moderate. The wicket was soft Bird won the loss and batted. The opening pair wero Hayward and Hobbs, .tho attack being entrusted to Hazlitt and Emery. Hayward, after batting fifty minute for 21 runs, was caught at mid-on by Emery off Matthews. One for 42.
