At a dinner in honour of the birthday of the King of Sweden, the Consul-in-Chief, • referring to the talk of a war scare between Russia and Sweden, said lie did hot think there was much in it. Sweden, however, was determined to defend herself. "We do not fear any. second-class Power," said the Consul, "and it'would be a hard fight if a first-class Power attacked us at present."
