NATIONAL DAIRY SHOW
The Manawatii a.ud West Coast Agricultural and Pastoral Association National llairv Show, which is to be held on June 25 26, 27, and 28, is goins to be a big thing,' and provided tho elements are propitious, promises to eclipse all former records, both in the number aud class of exhibits and also the attendance. At the present time, entries are ponrmg in by post, telephone, telegram, and personal'application, and several applicants for spaco in the machinery hall have been reluctautlv informed that not an inch of spaco is available there-nor, in fact, has there been for some time past. U lth regard to outside attractions in connection with the show, first and foremost comes tho annual match between Wanganui and Te Ante Colleges, which always arouses interest among the general public The event is looked forward to with such keenness that it has'now- become quite a "star" attraction. On Thursday there will be the leaping competition for ponies, to commence -with, followed by the maiden hunters' competition, hounds display by the Manawatu Hunt. Club, and lastly, but by.no means least, the Collinsoh and Cunninghame s Hunters Cup competition, open . to horses _tbat have followed the hounds at least three times during the present season, the hrst prize being a silver trophy, presented by Messrs. Collinson and Cunnmghame, Ltd. ~ Friday's events consist' of' an obstacle race and high jump for horses, milk-testing competition, and anoHiei event in the "soccer' match between I nlmerston and AVellington, which, shone be productive of a keen contest. TaKiiK them all round, the attractions appeal to bo excellent.
