MIRAMAR BOROUGH AFFAIRS
-' 9 The following were present at the fortnightly meeting of tl\o Miramar Borough Council last evening:—The Mayor (Mr. H. N. M'Leod), Councillors .Bell,. Bowie, Telford, Stone, Smith, and Grigg. A motion to the effect that the council jive instructions: "That a ticket available for day of issue only be issued to all passengers from Miramar and Seatoun to the city at a faro of 2d., and that instructions be given to tho tramway offico to give effect to tho motion," was moved by Councillor Bell, and seconded by Councillor Stone.—Tho motion was carried. The Wellington Eootball Association wrote, complaining of tho inadequate tram servico on Saturdays.—The letter was received, and it was decided to advise tho association to cousult the Tramways Committee regarding this matter. It was reported that latest returns from the borough tramways compared favourably with those for a similar period last year. Also that tho drainage mains had reached lorn Street, Mirajnar, and work was in progress in Forres and Ingli9 Streets, Seatoun. Power will be arranged for temporarily when the connections have been made. A general report upon requirements of street formation and improvement is being prepared. The matter of obtaining a report from the Railway Department upon tho extension of the railway to Kilbirnie and Miramar was receiving consideration. The Town Clerk was instructed to inquire re the council's insurance before the policy was renewed.
