$ SUMMARY AND FORECAST. Present indications are for misty and cloudy weather, with rain in many parts, but a temporary improvement may be expected to-morrow. The barometer will probably fall again shortly in the south and variable winds then give way to increasing northerlies. The weather lias been cloudy and unsettled. with rain in most parts of the Dominion. Moderate to strong northerly and westerly winds have prevailed northward of Farewell Spit and Kaikoura, and southerner, elsewhere. The barometer has risen in the south during tlie night. D. 0. BATES.
