Cabbages continue plentiful, and are selling at low prices; cauliflowers have declined in value; parsnips are wanted, and consignments can be recommended. Fruit—The demand for deseert apples has slackened owing no doubt to the cold weather; cooking apples have improved in value, and consignments are recommended. A large portion of the pears .coming forward are opening tin in an over-ripe condition. A good demand exists for .choice dessert pears. ■ Island oranges continue in heavy supply,- and low prices have to lie accepted to quit. Supplies of mandarins, passion fruit, and lemon* will arrive today by the Sydney steamer. Cheese.—The demand continue? eood; best factory, medium, 63(1. to 7d., loa[ 7».d. Butter, in bulk, in 561b. boxes, is" selling at lljd. for prime quality. Lard i<s selling at Bd. per lb. for best factory made. Eggs.—Fresh eggs are now ruling at Is. Ed. to Is. 9d. ner dozen, with preserved at Is. 2d. to Is. 3d. Ilay.—Bye and clover hay is- quoted at £5 to £5 10s. per ton, for prime quality. Chaff.—Prime oatensheaf chaff has good inquiry at £5 10b. to £6 10s. per ton, sacks in. Feed barley is slow of sale at 3s. 6d. per bushel. Cape Barley.—Very little business doing, r nnd the current quotation is 3s. 9d. a \ .bushel. J ' Oats—Seed, Algerian, j=. 4d. to 3?. 7d.
