CLYDESDALE HORSE SOCIETY.
MEETING OF THE EXECUTIVE. A meeting of the council of the Clydesdale Horse Society; was held in Dunedin during the ■'Winter Show, Mr. .T. A. Johnstone presiding. It was decided, on the motion of Mr. E. Short, that it be a recommendation to entrants that any stallion or mare up to six years old may be provisionally certified by a Government .veterinary surgeon to be free from hereditary unsoundness; entries accompanied by .such certificate would have the association's stamp affixed. The president announced that the society had been offered two 50-guinea and one 20-guinea challenge cups for competition among animals entered in the society's stud book. These were accepted with thanks. , It was moved by Mr. John Shearer, seconded by Mr. Gco.C. Thomson, ami carried, that breeders who have their stock registered in the Draught Horse Stud Book may have that stock transferred to Vohimo I of this society's Stud Book at half rates. An Editing Committee was appointed as under;— For the A'ortli Island: Messrs. ,T. W. Harding, Alex. Hunter, and Ernest Short; for' the South Island: Messrs. J. D. Wylie, Jas. Gov, and Tlios. Logan.
