Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited (Palmcrston North branch), state.—Wo have to report having a. fair entry of sheep and a good varding of cattle at our Feilrting sale on Friday. Aged ewes in lamb, 6s. 5d.: four ond five-year cwos in lamb to Southdown rams, 13s. 3d.; very small twotooth wethers, lis. 7d.; mixed-age ottife in lamb to Lincoln rains, 125.; weaners, 30si; 20-month to two-year steers, £4 Bs. 6rt.; springing heifers, £6 10s.; store cows, .€"1 10s. to £5 10s.
Mr. Newton King's weekly stock report is a3 follows:-On Thursday, May 30, I had a good attendance at Mr. A. V. Hughes's clearing sale at Kiverlea. Tho cows realised from £7 to £9 ss. for best; others £3 10s. to £6 55.; dray and harness. £15; heifers, £5 Is. to £6. At Bell Block, on Friday, for Mr. E. Westwood's clearing sale, there was a very large attendance. Good quality cows were very keenly competed for, and realised from £10 to .£l4; late calvers, £4 10s. to £9; three-quarter cows. £4 lo £5 10s.; some nice two-year Jersey heifers, from £8 to £10; small, £6 to £6 155.; store pigs, £1 10s. On Saturday I held my monthly horse fair when, owing to the exceptionally rough day, many of the horses intended did not arrive. Competition was anything but keen, the sale being on the slack side throughout. I quote:—Half-draughts, £17 to £21; harness hordes, .£lO ss. to £16; upstanding hacks, £11 to £14; hacks, £3 to £6 12s. 6(1.: pair of ponies, £25 10s.; Cortland wagon, £34. At ilahotu, on Tuesday, June 4, owing to wretched weather, I had only a small entry, a lot of advertised cattle not being yarded. Some good heifers were penned, meeting with very keen competition at advanced rates. Good grade Holstcin yearling heifers, from £3 6s. 6d. to £3 Bs. 6d.; others, £1 14s. to £2 145.: stoiv. £1 4s. to £1 Ife. 6d.; store cows, £2 lis. to £3: forward cows, £3 9s. to £3 lis.
