Perry stated that replies had been received from various associations . in regard to the proposal 1 to institute a royal society in the Dominion. Several of* the leading associations had opposed the proposal, thinking that it meant the holding" of a royal show. Mr. Perry pointed out that this was not the intention. It was proposed that the Royal. Society be really an executive to carry out the wishes 'of tiio conference. The secretary of the conference had suggested that another circular be sent out, and he (Mr. Perry) moved: "That this association is of opinion that another -circular be issued, placing the matter before tho asso'■ialions'iu its right light." Mr. I). M'Gregor seconded the resolution. He thought.that some of the associations had been afraid that a royal society would mean the holding of a royal show in a given centre. The intention was merely to have a body to carry out (lie wishes of the conference. The remit liad boon unanimously agreed to by the conference. Mr. W. J. Welch thought the matter one for consideration by.the conference. Mr. Perry said that tho proposal was to carry the matter out more on the lines of the' Farmers' Union, which had a Dominion executive. At present there' was no body to which associations could make representations. At the present time there was no means of- putting into effect the wishes of tho conference. What was wanted was an executive of the whole of the associations. Mr. Welch asksd if the conference had not already an executive. Mr. Perry replied .that it had, but it wanted something stronger. Mr. Welch said this looked like setting up a dual body. After 'discussion, Mr. Perry's resolution in favour of tho issuing of another, circular to A. and P.
