THE WEATHER.
SUMMARY AND FORECAST. Present indications arc for south-westerly winds strong to a. heavy cale in n'cst parts of the country. Cold and squally weather, showery at times, and wth snow on higher levels. The- barometer i 6 unsteady in th 3 south, but is duo to rise everywhere soon. Stormy weather has been experienced in most parts of the Dominion, but especially in th-3 northern and southernmost di t-icts and on the West Coaft of the South Island. Wanganui, June 4.—; Cold and wintry; heavy westerly gale; fairly fine overhead, but occasional heavy showers. Fcilding, June 4.—Wild wet night: bleak windy day with hailstorm; very cold niffht. Palmers'toii, June 4.—Heavy rain fell last night. To-day has been fine, but a. very cold northerly wind has been blowing. Shannon, Juno 4.—Cold and windy weather. Featherston, June 4.—Fine, with passing clouds. Carterton, June 4.—The weather is Dno, but cold, with a. breeze. Hastings, June 4.—Showery and very cold.
