Dr. Scskice, reporting to the Famine Relict Committee, tells piteous stoics of sufferings by the peasants in Saratov, southeast Russia. An epidemic of scurvy is reported from Hip Samara Stoppes, where the peasants, kuing lost all liopo uf succour, stretch tlituisi-lves in their huts and silently wait for (kath. Strikes have occurred at all the mines and factories in the Donetz liasin, soutli-o.u-t liussia. Efforts arc being made to engage famine-stricken peasants. Seven hundred Samara' and Nijui Novgorod Tartars who were imported struck work within thr«o days of starting. The ownMβ are prosecuting them.
