air. P. H. Ilickey (West Coast Workers) moved, and Mr. C. Stephenson (Westport Labourers) seconded"That the Government be approached by the federation and urged to constitute It hours a week's work on Hie public works of this country."—Carried.

iUr. A. Rosser (Auckland Tramways' moved, and Mr. 11. 1?. Joyce (Lyttelioi Stevedores) seconded:—"That the confer ence adopt the principle of one day's resl in seven, and aim to securc its inclusioi in Hie statutes of tho Dominion Carried.

Moved by Mr. A. Rosser (Auckland Tramways), and seconded by Mr. J. E. Duncan:—"That in the interests of public safety it is advisable that in all future agreements provision should be made for at least ten hours between shifts." — Carried.

Mr. Eosser (Auckland Tramways) moved, and Mr. ](. Dalhotisie (Manawatu .I'laxmillers) seconded:—"That, in I lie opinion of this conference, it is advisable ill future agreements that the- minimum wasro lo be asked for general labourers and outside workers shall be based upon their actual requirements to live decently and bring up families in some degree of comfort, instead of, as at present, allowing nothing for wet weather or stoppage of work."—Carried.

Mr. Coppersmith (Kimanga) moved, and Mr. Eosser seconded:—"That Section 11, paragraph A of the I.C. and A Act bo amended by adding the words 'or trade union' after tho word 'union,' where it occurs the second time in the above-mentioned paragraph."—Carried.
