AN ENTHUSIASTIC MEETING. (By Tolcgiapu.—Press Association;) Njjaruawahin, May 29. Mr. W. P. Massey, Leader of the. Oppo* sition, addressed a crowded meeting ail Ngarimwohia. to-night. He dealt with tho general election and events that had taken place since then. After tho resignation of Sir Joseph Ward, a caucus had been held, whan a different set of men were chosen, who held different views. Up to tho preBant they had not faced Parliament, and Parliament had had no opportunity of expressing confidwioe in them. They had now been in office some months, and it would still bo some timo before Parliament would have a chance, of giving an opinion on tho matter. This procedure was unconstitutional, Mid in tho meantime tho Ministry were perambulating round the country, making promises to all and sundry. No on* vrhc asked went away without a promise, which in all probabi'lity they would bo unubla to carry out. He was of opinion that tho timo was not far distant when there would be n change. Quite a number of mombers who had supported the Government on a noQiuifulcncG motion had announced their in« re'itiin of supporting a Reform parly, and 1)0 was firmly convinced that ere long the party which would legislate for tho best interests of the country would Coino into its own. ■ Amongst the other speakers were Messrs, F M. B. Fisher, J. A. Young, and 11. V. Bollard. M.IYs, who ail received a warm! reception. . The meeting was tho most enthusw,stia ever held in this district, and it is qui to evident that tho Reform party are making great progress here. ■ Subsequently a banquet was held, wnicnl was very largely attended, and tho pro- 1 cecdings'wero equally enthusiastic.
