This changing of the half-holiday more seriously affected the Wednesday houses than it <lid_ the Saturday Krms, and led to material loss of busiue?:'. In reply, the Mayor assured the deputation that their representations would have his earnest consideration. Hβ had followed precedent in the. matter, and on this particular occasion, the visit of General Bnden-Powell, he had been approached by General Godley and Mr. H. N. M'Leod and oihers interested in the lioy Scout movement. In future hu would toe that tho views of representative bodies wore obtained when the qucstion of chanifing tho doy arose.
