MASTERTON NOTES.
(From Our Special Correspondent.) Masterfon, May 27. A well-attended meeting of farmers was held bore on Saturday afternoon to endeavour to revive interest in tho Fanners' Viiion. Mr. 11. Morrison, who occupied the chair, slated, that the union was pract'cally dead in the Waivarapa, only two small branches surviving. _ Hβ _ urged the necessity of organisation, in view of the combinations in other directions. One or two speakers suggested that the union would i'ot bo a success until it engaged, more actively in politics. After eom« discussion it was decided that the headquarters of the union for tho Wairarapa be established at Masterton, and that eub-branches be formed in other centres. Mr D. Hebenton was appointed organiser for the district. The subscription was fixed at 10s. up to a capital value of icOOfl, and £1 for those owning property above that value. Mr. U.
