FOUR. WEEKS' WORKING. According to a report presented to the l'ramways Committee of the City Council yesterday, the traffic receipts show an.increase of. £%. As .£IOB was taken, on the AVadestown line, the receipts over city lines have (Increased by £T2, as compared with, last year. The total tramway revenue is £Ul more than last year. The power supply receipts show an increaso of .£l4l, making a totaL increase in the revenue of .£282. The total working expenses are .£BOO more than last year, the principal increases being: Wages, motormen and conductors, .£320; repairs and maintenance cars, i£4o9j power house fine, .£ll2. After allowing for proportion of capital charges the net results are:—lraniways, del)it ; ;bftlnnce,,,.E7s (l GS;',4(l,;;'pqwer supply, credit balance, £\Sl'lss:'hn."> total, ■ net surplus, £S2 Bs. stl. Last year the. total net surplus for the four weeks amounted to .£759, or .£677 better than the period under review. The total passengers carried are estimated to be 1,810,800, or 13,914 more than last year. As 26,007 passengers were carried on the Wadestown line, the city lines show a decrease of 12,093 passengera. The traffic receipts on city lines, including Wadestown, averaged 15.02 d. per car mile—a decrease of .dGd. The tramway working expenses averaged U.osd! per car mile, an increase of .74d.
