A BAD 'SUMMER. The annual report of the Harbour Ferries, Ltd., discloses the fact that the profit on general working for th? year ended March 51 was lower than any for the past four years, though the fleet is now b'gger. Tho directors regret that the operations of the company have not resulted more favourably. Tiie weather during the summer just passed has been the worst since the company ctune into existence. Ths profit made during the year, before charging for depreciation, was £1145 Bs. 9d„ which, with £512 9s. 4d. carried forward from last year, made £1657 18s. Id. From that 6 per cent.. Js deducted on account of depreciation on steamers and 10 per cent, on side-shows, plant, and furniture, in ail £1158 7s. 9d., leaving £139 10s. 4d. to be carried forward to uoxt "year.
