MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

(Before Mr. AV. G. Biddell, S.M.) At the Magistrate's Court on Saturday Thomas Francis Smith and Samuel Sparks were fined 20s. each for insobriety. Tour first-olTendcrs were also dealt with. For stealing a ring from his daughter-in-law, an elderly man was convicted and ordered to come before the Court when callcd upon. He admitted that lie had stolen the ring, and it appears that he pledged it for 10s., which lie spent on drink. Ho was therefore made tile subject of a prohibition' order.
