Mr. Griffith, State Minister for Public Works, has decided, after the- late Royal Commission's findings, to have no dealings with Messrs. Hoskins, of the Lithgow ironworks, but he will allow Government contractors to use tho firm's iron and steel after the most stringent tests. A DISCREDITED PROPOSAL. Sydney, May 24. The Labour Council passed a resolution, repudiating the proposed one day strike as being calculated to prejudice the cause of the imprisoned Lithgow men and bring the whole industrial movement into comtempt. , The resolution also expresses regret that the affiliated unions participated in the agitation for a strike before consulting the council.
