MASTERTON NOTES.
(By Teleirapb.—Special CcrrcsDccdent.) Masterton, May 23. At a meeting of tho Masterton branch of the Labour party on Wednesday night, a resolution was passed that the coal supply of tho Dominion, should Ik exclusively worked and distributed by the State, and urging that a depot for f.ia salo of State coal be at once established in Masterton. Efforts are being made to resuscitate branches oi' the Farmers' Union in this district, and a meeting is to be held in Masterton on Saturday afternoon to revive tho local branch. Messrs. E. G. Eton, T. Wagg, C. E. Daniell, and H. C. Robinson have been nominated for the three vacant seats 011 tho Masterton Trust Lands Trust. The election takes place on Thursday nest. Tho Masterton Harriers had an opening 1 run to-day, 15 members taking part. 1 A meeting is to be held here on Monday . night with n view to forming an honorary . Territorial Association. =====
