SCARCITY OF DAIRY WORKERS.
CHANNEL ISLANDERS SUGGESTED. Referring (o the remarks of the Dominion president of the New Zealand Tanners' Union concerning immigration, Mr. Parsons, of Wliemiakuva, fays lie cannot understand why the Government is not anxious to assist in .importing labour. Continuing, lie says:—"l may say we are dairying ill a fairly large way, and have a cheese factory. o have had serious difficulty in getting labour of any k"J«We are natives ol' Guernsey, and lull/ know tho state of things at Home, lie wrote Home to my father to send us out .four men. With one advertisement lie had over forty applicants, so you -see labour can bo got. The Channel Island people would mako splendid immigrants anil settlers. I know of dozens ol fanner.? who would jump at n chance of getting suitable labour.' 1 Mr. Parsons, says the "Farmers' Union Advocate, is going Homo in April next, and ho offers to assist in the selection of suitable men. We are sure with Mr. Parsons that the Channel Island people are just the people we want for dairy farms. They aro splendid people iu dealing with milking cows, and we trust before Mr. Parsons goes Home, that the Minister for Labour will givo sanction to tho bringing out of men for dairy farmers as well as boys selected Mr.Sedgwick.
