The Australians placed another win to their credit to-ilay, when tliey secured victory over M.C.C. by five wickets. • When stumps were drawn yesterday, M.C.C. had five wickets down for 244Mead (61) and Perrin (8) being the notout men. Continuing this morning, in hue weather, and with the wicket hard, the , 2000 spectators saw Kollewny, with his first ball, dispose of Mend, taking his leg stump. Mead's score included a sixer and fivo 4's. Burns, who succeeded Mead, saw the scoro raised to 272, -when he hit acrosa a long hop from Kelleway. Six rims later Webster dismissed Littlejohn by a smart catch off Kelleway. Thompson stayed with I'e.rrin until the third century was registered, when he was brilliantly caught by Hazlitt, off I.iuory, low down at short-leg. The batsman did not relish the umpire's decision. Brown, the last man, added 10, but lost his wicket by endeavouring to turn one from Emery to leg. Perrin, who was undefeated, played soundly during his eighty-five minutes at the wickets. The innings had lasted 275 minutes. The Australian bowlers sent down many no-balls, 6everal of which were scored from. Two overs yielded fourteen extras. The Australians opened their second innings badly, Gregory being snapped at second slip before he had made a run. Showers stopped tho play for a few minutes, and on resuming Macartney played a ball from Thompson on to bis wicket. He had made his 20 Jby fine cricket, his cutting being brilliantly executed.
