KARORI RIFLE CLUB.
« The annual social gathering of members of the /Karori Rifle Club was held at Godbor's Rooms last evening. President H. Marshall was in the chair, and there was a good attendance of members. Amongst tho guests of tho evening was Mr. W. H. Field,, the club's patron, who presented the prizes awarded to tho successful marksmen in last season's club competitions (the list of prizewinners has already been published in The Dominion). The Minister for Defence (Hon. A. M. Myers) was to have- been present, but was unable to attend, owing to pressure of official business. The evening was a very pleasant one, songs and toast speeches filling in the merry hours. The toasts honoured included:—"The Dominion Rifle Association" (responded to by Cap lain- F. B. Mabin), "The Cjub Champion" (responded to by Rifleman J. Burns). "Donors of Trophies," "Kindred Clubs," "Tho Ladies.", and "Tho Press."
