The Royal Choral Society's first concert of tho present season will tafoe place in the Town Hall on Tuesday, Juiw-4, when Mascagni's opera, "I,a" Cavalleria- Ritsticana" will lie sung in concert form, with!. a chorus and orchestra of 300. Mr. Philip Newbury is tho only, sojoist .who lias previously sung for the 'society. The 'others engaged' Miss Rosina Buckinann; mezzo-soprano, Miss Muriel Bennett; contralto, Miss Doris Dnll; niul baritone, Mr. Hamilton Hodges, The soloists above.mentioned shouW enable the society to civ© ft powerful and ' dramatic rendering of this great opera.
