FEILDING NOTES.
On the application of tho chairman of the Wanganui Education Board, the Education Department has authorised Hie attendance of the Boy Scouts at General Baden-Powell's reception to count, as an attendance at school, provided that they go with the sanction of tho board. Tho Feilding Borough Council has received a letter from the Woodvillc Council, suggesting that the combined pressure of local bodies interested should be .brought (o bear on the Government, to take over the control ami upkeep of the rond through tho Mamiwatu Gorge. Tho Feilding Council is. supporting tho suggestion. , , ' Mr. W. Alderson has purchased a propertv in the Rewa, district from Mr. Erfle't Short, and has sold his farm in tho Sandon Biock to Messrs. Brown and Son. If the Cheltenham Dairy Company snake satisfactory arrangements for carryin* on the Rewa creamery, Mr. Aldcrson will take his first-class herd of dairy cows to his now property; otherwise they will be sold, together with his sheep, at the end oF July. ■ . . , . •V private telegram received here yesterday s'atos that Mrs. Lockhead, mother of Mr J M. Tt. Lochhcad, or Feilding, died at; Dunsandal, near Christcliurch, on Tuesday night.
