SUMMARY AND FORECAST. Present indications are for cold and change, able wsather, misty and showery at times in many parts of the country. The winds will probably veer from a westerly to a south-easterly direction, and prove moderate to strong in force. The barometer has a rising tendency, especially in the south. The weather has been cool, unsettled, and cloudy at times in most parts of the country. Moderate to strong westerly winds hare predominated. The barometer has risen to-day in the south. B. C. BATES. Palmcrston, May 22— Wcath?r fine. Otaki, May 22.—Sunshine. Featherston, May 22—Bright fine day; northerly breeze. Greytown, May 22—The wcatlior has been fine nil day. Masterton, May 22.—A keen frost was experienced this morning, this being followed by a bright day with slight westerly wind. Hastings, May 22—A sharp frost was followed by a bright, sunny day.
