ARMED BURGLAR TACKLED.
IN A SYDNEY SUBURBAN HOUSE. By Telegraph -Press Association-Copyright. Sydney, May 21. Early this morning Gleeson, a manservant at Mrs. Burdekin's hous-o in Mactjuarie Street, discovered a masked and armed man on the premises. Despite a therat. to shoot, Gleeson closed with the intruder. In the struggle the burglar's revolver went off, narrowly missing Gleeson. The burglar escaped. There were several other burglaries in the city yesterday. AN UNRELIABLE STORY, (Rec. May 21,11.35 p.m.) Sydney, May 21. The Macquarie Street burglary has fizzled out. The detectives, after examining Gleeson, declare that his story is unreliable. TWO MORE BURGLARIES. Sydney, May 21. There were two burglaries at Turramurra, and £230 in money and jewellery •were looted.
