(From Our Special Correspondent,.) —4) Diamond Jubilee services in connection with Use Knox Church, Lower Hutt, worn conducted by the Rev. K. Inglis, on Sunday. There were large attendances at both, the morning and evening services. Amongst those attending the morning service were: Mrs. Knight, of Wniwetu, who was married in the church sixty years ago; Alesdnmes Ha'ley (I/oath-erstou), Mrs. J. C'lindy (Fcntherston), Mr. David Speedy (Hutt), and Mr. William Milne, all of whom have been associated with the church since tho early days. Mr. Millie, who is the oldest member of the congregation, acting in conjunction with Mr. Smith, prepared the site where- the church now stands. Prior to this time, meetings used to be- held on the banks of the Hutt. Itiver. The Kev. William Drew, who was the first resident-minister, took command on May 19, 1852. On Sunday, Mr. Inglis conveyed greeting from the. Wellington Presbytery- The church was appropriately decorated for the occasion, and special hymns were sung. To-mor-row evening an "Old Lang Syne." social will be held, when representatives from local bodies and churches, and members of I he presbytery will be present.
