HONEY PROSPECTS.
WELLINGTON CROP SMALLEST ON RECORD. Reporting on .the honoy crop prospects, tipin'rv instructors of the Agricultural Department have advised the head of the Department as under:— Auckland.—Owing to the unseasonable weather experienced throughout the siiinincr, many beekeepers only expected to obtain about; half-crop?; but even tins low estimate has not been realised. Taking the average throughout the Auckland districts, Ihe crop tor the season 1911-12 1.estimated at little more than one-third ol that obtained last. season. Trices arc good, and the quality is mostly first grade. Merchants are paving from His. (id. to lis. Cd. per dozen tor 21b. tins of first-grade honey, and prices, are likely to still further advance. Weliington.-The beekeepers in laranaki, Wellington, and Hawke's Bay have, for this season, extracted" all their surplus honev. The quality is good, and prices are above the average. .1 he crop, however, is one of the smallest on record, due to the very boisterous weather experienced throughout the summer. Christchurch.-This season's honey crop has turned out to be a very light one. This js due to the inclement weather experienced right through the season.
