A Conference of Surveyors-General of 'Australia and New Zealand is being held here. Mr. King O'Mnlley, Minister for Public Affairs, in npen-'ng the Conference, said he was specially gratified that New Zealand was represented. His own opinion was that New Zealand would ultimately become a part of the Commonwealth, but if this would have the effect of arresting * her march towards democracy, he would rather she did not become a partner in the Commonwealth.
