PALMERSTON DAY BY DAY.
(By Telegraph—Special Correspondent.) Patmerston, May 19. The local branch of the United Lal>our party has passed the following resolution:—"That, in view of the recent outbreak of typhoid fever at one of the flaxmills in this electorate, this. meeting urge upon the Minister for Labour tbc necessity of immediately gazetting regulations for bettor accommodation cf employees."
A party of G Squadron of the local Mounted Rifles went to Foxton yesterday to make preparations for the camp, which will bo held on the racecourse there this week. This cam]) will be for the various mounted rifle corps._
A church parade of Territorials this afternoon created a considerable amount of interest, and a very large crowd of spectators was present. The parade «as handed by tho Palnierston Brass Band, and comprised the mounted and foot corps, senior cadets, veterans, anu fire brigade. Tho service was held at All Swiits Church, where the Rev, H. G. Roscher preached a sermon appropriate to the occasion.
