It has been decided to establish a butter factory at I'nkowhai, where a new settlement was recently inaugurated. At tlw Hastings Borough Council meeting 011 Thursday night Councillor Styles moved:— "That tho attention of Iho Minister for Railways lw drawn to tho poor accommodation for the travelling public at tho Hastings Railway Station and goods siied, which are far too small to meet requirements. 'Die Hastings Borough Council would, on behalf of the burgesses and travelling public, earnestly ask that an attempt be made to erect a suitable station and goods cshed on tho ground recently acquired by the Government for this purpose." Councillor Hart snggfted that it be pointed out that till" Government w-eie receiving <~bout ullltiii ;i veal' rental from business sites in Station Street, which the original owner never intended to be the ease when he gave the Government land for ryilwav buildings and yards.
