Norton Unionist member for Wednesbury, said ho was unable to appoint a committee from members of the House of Commons signing tho petition of April 25, 1911, to furthor tho creation of an Imperial Senate,
The memorial presented to Mr. Asquith, and signed by 300 members of the House of Commons, was as follows:—'"We, tho undersigned members of Parliament, representing all political parties, are of opinion that the time has arrived to take practical steps to associate . the overseas Dominions in a more permanent manner with the conduct of Imperial affairs, if possible by means of an established representative council of an advisory character in toucli with public opinion throughout the Empire.'
