On her last visit to Scandinavia it was hoped that she would havo been allowed to do this, but there was somo legal difficulty, to which attention was thus called, and by the time Mrs. Booth again visited Norway new laws had been passed, enabling women—even "foreigners"—to speak in the. State cathedrals of the country.
Ou Sunday afternoon, March 17, Dr. •Towc-tt preached at Columbia University, New York, his own pulpit at Fifth Avenue being occupied by Dr. SchaufTler. Early, this month Dr. .Towett is to deliver the Lyman Ueecher foundation lectures at Yale. Ho will deliver seven lectures on the general topic of "The Preacher." Last week the Fifth Avenue Church gave a reception to Dr. and Mrs. .Towett to celebrate tho first anniversary of their settlement in New York.
Jlr. Paul Moody, tho younger son of the late D. L. Moody, who has for some years tea engaged in the publishing business, has now entered tho ministry, and has been called to the pastorate of tho South Congregational Church at St. Johnsbury, Vermont.
