Melbourne, May IG. The miners at the Slate mine at Wont hnggi have resinned work.
Owing to the abolition of the second and the fixing of a hewing rate unacceptable to the miners, they cen*od work on April i, and caused a thousand men to be idle. COASTAL SHIPOWNERS. (Rec, May IC, 10.10 p.m.) Sydney, May 16. _ The High Court has granted the Coastal Steamship Owners' Association's application of prohibition, restraining the Arbitration Court and Merchant Service Guild of Australasia from proceeding under au award made in April, 1911. ANOTHER STUPID STRIKE. Sydney, May 16. . The Pclaw Main miners have struck because a miner was dismissed for excessive swearing. The men, it is considered, are endeavouring to find a pretext for breaking with the Conciliation Committee.
