' INQUIRY 1 BY COMMISSION. By Telegraph-Press ABSociation-Copyrisht Brisbane, May 16. A Royal Commission on the fruit industry has commenced its sittings. Mr. - Foster, tho chairman, stated that he thought the time had come when tho Federal Government should take hold of all production with a view to giving better facilities for marketing at Home and abroad. Witnesses declared that the opposition, of Chinese gardeners and the importation, of fruit from Fiji made the growing of bananas unprofitable.
