EDUCATION BOARD APPOINTMENTS. Sir.-Eecent doings of tho Wellington Education Hoard in the matter ot appointments induce me to mako a suggestion. Many teachers in Wellington are attending Victoria College, striving hard after arts and science degree?, under adverse circumstances, as everyone knows (except the members of the board). But what is the use of an arts or.a sci«noe degree.' What use mathematics, edv.cntion, cliemistrv, English, etc.? Apparently none. Mv" suggestion is this: There -should be eslablished at Victoria College a Chair of "Wire-pulling." There would then bo "equal opportunity for all," as our Socialist friends demand. Mow about the University Reform Association taking the matter up? No need for external examiners; plenty competent on the Wellington Education Board .-I. am, **{;:•„.—
