AFGHANS IN PERSIA.
PROTESTS FROM GREAT BRITAIN. By Telegraph—Press Association-Copyright London, May U. Afghan intrusions in-Persia have provoked protests from Great Britain tinder the Treaty of 1857. It is stated that the Teal cause of the- trouble is the augmentation of tho Afghans' Western garrisons, owing to Russian activities at Meshpd, in the north-east of Persia, and 195 miles north-west of Herat, Afghanistan.
