(By Teleeraph.—Preje Association.) Auckland, May 15. A conference sf representatives of local bodies appointed Mr. Purr, Major of Auckland, and Messrs. CoySo, ticofie.liA. Garland. French, Rutherford, and Allen delegates to represent the Auckland hospital' districts at the conference to bo held in Wellington. The conference passed a resolution that it was opposed to a local government board and provincial councils, and approved of Government assistance in the shape of special subsidies to arterial toads.

Dannevirke, Hey 55. A meeting to elect a-delegate to represent the. Waipawa district at tho local bodies' conference elected Mr. F. G. Cowper, chairman of ' the Banuovirke County Council. Tho following resolution was passed:—'That this meeting, whilst not- wishing to tie the hands of its delegate, considers the Bill in present form is unsatisfactory."
